Asteromorph, an AI for Science lab based in Seoul, has raised $31.4 million in total seed funding to build scientific superintelligence.
This figure reflects a previously raised KRW 5 billion tranche and a newly closed KRW 42 billion financing, bringing Asteromorph’s cumulative seed funding to KRW 47 billion, or approximately $31.4 million. With this close, Asteromorph has completed one of the largest seed-stage financings in South Korea.
The latest investment was led by BonAngels Venture Partners, with participation from FuturePlay, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, Mirae Asset Capital, IMM Investment, Premier Partners, Korea Development Bank, KDB Capital Corporation, SV Investment, STIC Ventures, and other leading investors.
What We Build
Asteromorph builds Autonomous Science Systems that handle the full process of scientific research within defined problem domains. Each system is designed for a specific domain, such as discovering unknown biological mechanisms or optimizing material synthesis conditions.
At the core of these systems is Spacer, a language model embedded in Asteromorph’s Autonomous Science Systems. Spacer pairs a base LLM with a purpose-built add-on model that brings deep domain knowledge and multi-step reasoning to scientific work.
Asteromorph’s flagship initiative, The Library Project, runs Autonomous Science Systems at scale to elucidate previously unknown mechanisms underlying life and compile them into a database called The Library.
